Good lighting designers are creative and resourceful, yet technically adept. The University of Glamorgan is one of the leading universities for Lighting Design and Technology in Europe. On this lighting design and technology degree, you will develop high levels of technical skill and industry knowledge, in a range of areas within the lighting profession. You will:
- Be introduced to the fundamentals of light and lighting
- Develop an understanding of the lighting process from conception to realisation
- Investigate the processes and techniques used in lighting for architecture, concerts, theatre, corporate events and television
- Learn to programme a range of lighting consoles and control platforms

How You Will Study
The BSc (Hons) Lighting Design and Technology is delivered in lectures, workshops and laboratories, as well as television studios and other creative spaces. Assessment involves a mixture of assignments, coursework, presentations and class tests throughout the year, with exams for some modules.
