Essential Info
Students on our radio degree get to develop their radio skills in our broadcast-standard studios at ATRiuM. You will develop expertise in a number of radio broadcasting genres, formats and styles. You will produce live radio shows for our student station, prepare material for podcasts and contribute programmes to local radio stations. You will also benefit from our proven track record of excellence in media practice, which includes two BBC Radio 1 awards for student radio and several prizes for student films.
We were the first university in the UK to hold a Community Radio Licence and the Wales Centre for Radio is based at the University. The Radio Division has close links with a many different radio stations and our students have enjoyed valuable work placements with a number of stations, including Radio Wales, GTFM, Bath FM, Red Dragon FM, Real Radio and Radio Cardiff.
